4th of July Outdoor Tablescape

Happy 4th of July weekend from Thistle Hill Ranch!

I can't believe that it's already the 4th of July!

Do you have special plans or do you relax at home?

Because the 4th of July lands on a Wednesday this year, my husband will be home to celebrate with us this year, WOOOHOO!

Our first year here at Thistle Hill Ranch, he came home early from work to surprise us and take us to our local 4th of July rodeo. We had so much fun!

Usually we hang out at the ranch, fish at the pond, and barbecue.

Then when the sun goes down, we have a bonfire by the pond and set off fireworks.

There's nothing more beautiful than fireworks by bonfire against a star filled sky!

This photo was taken about 3 years ago...I love that our girls are watching our oldest fish.

So to make things more relaxed and still fun, I love having a tablescape that I can put together quickly with things I already have around the house.

I love adding pillows as seat cushions here, so dinner conversations can linger a little longer.

Simple chargers, with blue and white Currier and Ives plates on top of simple white dinner plates, (from World Market), and hobnail glasses (from Wayfair), set the table.

The blue and white jar, from Hobby Lobby, filled with flags big and small, makes the perfect centerpiece for a patriotic party.

When I do outdoor tablescapes, I try to make them comfortable, easy, and colorful!

This time I kept the tablecloth off, and added a simple white table runner instead.

This makes barbecue blunders stress free, and yet adds some softness to the picnic table.

Having drinks and dessert close by, lets everyone spend time enjoying their dinner and conversation, instead of hopping up and down during their meal.

I love any dinner that lets everyone feels relaxed...including the host or hostess!

Every year on the 4th, I'm very thankful for all those that sacrificed for us to have our FREEDOM and the day to celebrate it!

I hope everyone has a Safe and Happy Fourth of July!

Thank you so much for stopping by the Ranch...I'm always grateful for you!
